Yerevan concerned over political repressions in Egypt

YEREVAN - Armenian leadership has voiced harsh criticism over violations of human rights in Egypt and ongoing suppression of democracy. Armenian Presidential spokesman Sanik Sahakyan offered the official Yerevan stance on the subject this Monday. “It is unacceptable that a member of the international community would use force against its own people in modern times. Mubarak needs to announce early elections and seek popular support through democratic means and not via uncovered oppression of its own citizens. We keep a close eye on the situation in Egypt and call on all parties for a meaningful dialog”.

"Will street trade ban cause extinction of Earth's oldest profession?" historians are worried

YEREVAN – Hundreds of lonely men remain unsatisfied, Kiev-Yerevan flight is on the verge of cancellation and that is just the tip of the iceberg.  Recent ban of street trade by new Yerevan mayor Karen Karapetyan raised a strong waive of protests among vendors of fruits, sunglasses, flowers, bubble-gum and random crap. While street vendors picket Yerevan City hall and demand justice, one group of street vendors remains confused. Yerevan prostitutes haven’t worked for the past week, trying to decide whether to join the street vendors or to continue working under the risk of being fined.

Yerevan City claims 'best fake vodka in South Caucasus'

YEREVAN – Armenia’s major supermarket chain – Yerevan City – at a press conference on Monday unveiled its revamped strategy: improving the quality of counterfeit vodka by 30%  in 2011: “We are committed to provide the best quality for the Armenian appreciators  international alcohol brand fakes,” stated the press secretary of the supermarket chain at the press conference.
